Just like Adam

To Allah we belong and to him we shall return. I died and I did.

The innate human desire to be perfect and complete. Thriving for perfection is what one is destined to do. Humans are faulty and imperfect and being good means winning every day over your lower self, the impure and imperfect self. Except, subhan Allah, the story of Adam (May Allah be pleased with him) came to teach me better.

Allah knew. Allah created Adam. Adam knew what he had not do, yet he did. Allah knew. Allah forgave.

Adam is perfect. Even when he disobeyed, he followed Allah’s divine decree and became a light for all of us who followed. Allah never wanted Adam to be “perfect”. Allah wanted Adam “human”.  Repentant. That’s it. To return to Allah. To find Allah time and time again. To learn that Allah is forever the Most Merciful the Most Gracious. To learn his magnificent 99 names and call upon Him. Only.

We were never created to be "perfect". In fact, this is a fantasy spun by the shaytan to make you feel less, feel unworthy and sway you into abysmal realms, where he lies. Shaytan thought of himself as better, closer to perfection, than man and that led to his disobedience and his eternal damnation.

Your lower self would agree with shaytan, thinking that it is impure and imperfect. Unaware that Allah created you perfect. Your higher self knows. Just like Adam. Your flaws? Your faults? Your weaknesses? – These qualities are what bring you closer to Allah. They are your guides to repentance. They are part of life as true as the air you breathe. Such is being human, giving purpose to life.

So, who are you trying to please? If you keep on like that it would be shaytan!
