Yoga is Islamic Prayer

DISCLAIMER:
This is but a discovery I have made and sharing it is only meant for mind opening and understanding and cultural acceptance. Furthermore this is a shared aspect between Indians and Pakistani, a common important thing to each that helps take on mutual tolerance and love.

What first caught my attention about the similarity between the moves of islamic prayer and yoga, was back when I practiced Yoga every Saturday morning. We started off with rounds of sun salutation, “a series of yoga poses performed in a continuous flowing sequence and intended to improve the strength and flexibility of the muscles.”

I just thought it was a cool coincidence then. But when scrolling on Pinterest I found this post:

AKA this prayer move:

I thought: Subhan Allah!
Because we now sit most of the day and this move, in fact this whole spiritual ritual stretches the body and strengthens the muscles. And not just that, the particular child pose if done for 5 minutes every day, calms the mind; and Muslims have been told to pray 5 times a day.
And not just that, this pose in Islam is considered when you are closest to God, and the child pose is called “child pose” because this is how you are positioned inside your mothers womb before you are born.

Our interpretations may vary but our soul is one.

God bless
