How You Can Practice Daily Mindfulness Effortlessly- Tips from Religions

Hello everyone! Today I want to share with you some tips and tricks I use everyday, that just transform my life on a day to day basis. These hacks are greatly inspired and intertwined with my culture, but I know that no matter where you’re from or what your background is, that you can greatly benefit from those as well. The motto is “You can learn from everyone and everyday- no exceptions!” So let’s get into this:

  • After using the restroom, make it a habit to do wudu’ (ritual of purity) as well. This is a great way to stay extra clean all the time. When washing your hands you can go ahead and rinse all the way to your arms and your face as well. Firstly it’s for cleanliness. You’re getting that street dirt washed off and protecting yourself from viruses and bacteria in a very friendly and easy way. Furthermore it’s also refreshing and reenergizing.

  • After waking up pray or do some stretches or meditate right away. This is a great way to start your day. You won’t feel like you’re dependent on that cup of coffee or that you’re day won’t go right if you don’t munch on that cereal this instance. Praying, meditating, stretching, all of that balances your being and renders you more peaceful and happy. You will see how for longer periods of time you feel well, happy and balanced. To make this a habit you want to intentionally commit to these practices for an average of three weeks, that’s 21 days. If you manage to perform these habits for 90 days they will become part of your lifestyle. That’s the 21/90 rule of habits.

  • When you’re waiting in line or sitting in a car- basically killing some time- why not count your blessings? Praise God for all creation, feel gratitude for all his blessings, ask for forgiveness, and devote this time to the Almighty. Of course you can also literally count your visible blessings or mouth affirmations!

  • Before going to sleep I like to remember God. You know this image that is very popular in Christianity of the little girl sitting by her bed looking up and praying wholeheartedly? Well that’s the image that comes to my mind when I tell you about remembering God before sleep. In Islam we are ordered to ask God for the things we want and wish for; it counts as a good deed! And then to know that if it is good then it will happen in perfect timing. I think that if you sleep and wake up with this mindset then life will be so much more enjoyable and fulfilling!
