The Future of Fashion

Considering climate change and globalization and all, some things will change as we have never known before. Let’s take a closer look at Fashion and the “Bottega Effect” (link down below) of creating new Fashion instead of venting about the past like most of the Fashion industry.

Keeping in mind that summers will be hotter and winters will be colder, clothes are bound to get oversized and for good reason. In summer to  keep things breezy; in winter to cozy up. Expect minimalistic fashion where neutrals champion the simple but elegant outfit. Furthermore focus will be on accessories of all types, all shapes, all sizes. I mean, there has to be some kind of “trend” raging after all. Anyhow fashion is being revolutionized towards sustainability and  buying for quality. This is the future. The fashion industry is taking steps towards producing more eco and worker friendly.

Especially fast-fashion brands, famous for a poor social responsibility reputation, will up their game. Because as long as fast-fashion is associated with workforce exploitation and appalling working conditions, fast moving consumer fashion will be fought against. Because even with Instagram obsessed teenagers and cost-desperate family shoppers interested in quantity over quality and shopping for low price- short life items, environmental and social backlash is brewing up... .

If you want to know how “good” you are buying make sure to take a look at the tags on purchased items.
Zara, for example, has the #joinlife tag. This tag shows you that this product was made using sustainable materials, technologies to save water, and processes that reduce carbon emissions. Yay.
And H&M. H&M has the Concious label, a green hang tag on the items that are made of at least 50% of sustainable materials.
Yay.
And those are just two examples. The whole fashion industry is changing, towards a safer future.
